00100	NOTES FOR THE INTER-STELLAR COMMUNICATION SEMINAR
00200
00300	1. Today, Jan. 12, I was phoned by John Billingham
00400	of Ames and invited to give a paper in their
00500	summer seminar on interstellar communication. Other
00600	speakers I rememeber include Sagan, Arbib, Dobzhansky,
00700	Pommeruna(?sp). I am to talk on AI. On the phone we
00800	discussed inter-stellar travel, longevity of
00900	civilizations. The talks are to be published.
01000
01100	2. Possible discussion points that I might make include
01200	a. feasibility of travel b. How long would it take to
01300	fill the universe with human beings. c. Living
01400	in space. d. The fact that communication methods would
01500	not necessarily cater to beginners. e. Possible policies
01600	that different civilizations might have concerning
01700	communication and expansion and travel. f. The main effect
01800	of the possiblility of AI is that we cannot possibly predict
01900	what we or any other race posessed of AI will decide to
02000	do. g. The possibility of the life destroyer.
